SAVE AGE
Energy efficiency in residences for elderly people
SAVE AGE project is the first European international initiative, recognizing energy efficiency among elderly as important potential for decreasing energy consumption. Today nearly 14% of the EU population is over the age of 65 and this figure is expected to double by 2050. Within the SAVE AGE project residences for elderly people are supported to address the subject of energy efficiency in close relation to the quality of the indoor environment and needs of elderly people. Selected residences will be offered free advice on energy saving measures and a benchmark of their own energy consumption and energy costs in comparison to other residences. National training workshops will be organized to disseminate the experience at a wider scale.
